Meta Marketing API v26.0 (July 2026): What Changed for Advertisers

What changed

• Meta released Graph API and Marketing API version 26.0 on 29 July 2026.
• Three Delivery Estimate fields are removed, because the service behind those values was deprecated: daily outcomes curve, budget guardrail and estimated daily active users. Meta states there is no replacement API.
• The Instagram Explore Feed placement is no longer available, and a request that names Explore returns an error. Delivery moves to other eligible placements.
• The Messenger Stories placement is deprecated. On v26.0 and later the story value is dropped from messenger positions and no longer appears in effective placements.
• A creative set to web only can no longer go on an ad whose campaign uses both the Website and App conversion locations.
• Several of these reach all remaining supported versions on 27 October 2026.

Who is affected

• Advertisers and tools that call the Marketing API directly, including reporting and bid management software.
• Anyone whose ad sets still name the Instagram Explore Feed or Messenger Stories as a manual placement.

What to check this week

• Check your ad sets for manual placements that name Instagram Explore or Messenger Stories, and remove them. Recommended in the platform documentation: read the official page
• Check whether any report or dashboard you use reads the Delivery Estimate fields Meta removed.
• Check with your third-party tool vendors which Marketing API version they call, and when they plan to move to v26.0.
