Facebook Ads Daily Spending Limit, New Account: How It Works and Grows

Last checked against Meta's documentation. By Muhammed Abdul Kalam. Visibility

Quick fix

Facebook ads daily spending limit (new account): Meta sets this cap based on your advertising and payment history, and new accounts are one reason it is readjusted. Check it under Current balance in Payment settings. It usually rises automatically as you build history, follow policy and spend near it. Otherwise it resets at 12:00 AM.

  • Check the limit under Current balance in Payment settings.
  • Watch Payment settings for an offer to increase it faster.
  • Keep ads compliant: violations can lower it.
  • Spend up to or near the limit to build history.

What this error means

Meta caps how much most advertisers can spend each day, based on advertising and payment history. New ad accounts, Pages and portfolios have little history, so the cap is lower. When you hit it, ads pause and resume the next day.

It is the most Meta allows your ad account to spend on ads in a single day.

Why it happens

1A new account, Page or portfolio

Meta may readjust the limit for new business portfolios, ad accounts, Pages or apps.

How to tell if this is you: The account or Page was created recently.

2Policy or quality issues

Violations, low ad quality rankings or low feedback scores can readjust the limit.

How to tell if this is you: You have rejected ads or low quality rankings.

How to fix it

  1. Build advertising history and follow the policies.
  2. Spend up to or near the limit.
  3. If eligible for a faster increase, accept the notification in Payment settings.

How long it takes

If you hit the limit and aren't eligible for an increase, it resets at 12:00 AM or 00:00 in your ad account's time zone. Meta doesn't publish how fast the limit grows.

How to stop it happening again

  • Plan launches on new accounts around a lower daily cap.
  • Keep ads compliant and quality rankings healthy.

From my desk

Keep the first launch simple, with one campaign, a couple of ad sets and budgets that fit the limit. Spend and a clean payment history are what normally let the limit grow, so I do not try to force it. I tell clients the early weeks are for learning, not scale.

When to get help

  • A launch needs more daily spend than the new account allows.
  • The limit hasn't grown despite steady, compliant spend.
