Click to WhatsApp ads not working often means your Facebook Page isn't connected to a WhatsApp Business number, or that number is linked to another Facebook business. Connect it from Page settings under Permissions, Linked accounts, WhatsApp, or in Ads Manager under Message destinations. If it's linked elsewhere, remove it as a business asset there first.

What this error means
Click to WhatsApp ads open a WhatsApp chat with your business. To run them, a Facebook Page must be connected to your WhatsApp Business number. If that link is missing, or the number belongs to another business, the ad can't send people to your chat.

How to fix it
Connect from Page settings
For: Page and WhatsApp not connected
- Open your Page settings and, under Permissions, click
Linked accounts, then WhatsApp. - Enter your WhatsApp Business number and confirm with the code you receive.
Or connect in Ads Manager
For: Page and WhatsApp not connected
- At ad set level, find WhatsApp under
Message destinations. - Click
Connect accountand follow the verification steps.
Free the number
For: Number linked to another business
- Remove the WhatsApp number as a business asset from the other business, then connect it again.

- Keep the WhatsApp number in one business only.
- Use a dedicated number per Page if you run several brands: a Page can hold multiple numbers.

First I check the link between the Facebook Page and the WhatsApp number, since the ad needs that connection on the right business account. Then I confirm the number is active on WhatsApp Business and that the welcome message is set. A broken or switched connection is easy to miss.
