X's developer docs set post images at 5 MB or less and animated GIFs at 15 MB. Standard accounts can post videos up to 20 minutes and 8 GB; X Premium raises that to 125 minutes and 16 GB. Ad card images must be at least 800 px wide and 3 MB or less.

Kalam's adviceWithout an official pixel size, design for the frame you want to win in: horizontal for links and news, vertical for something people should stop and look at. Then check the preview before posting.

What is the maximum image size on X?

X's developer docs allow post images up to 5 MB, in JPG, PNG, GIF or WEBP. Animated GIFs can be up to 15 MB.

How long can a video on X be?

Standard accounts can upload videos up to 20 minutes and 8 GB. With X Premium or a verified account, the limit is 125 minutes and 16 GB. The minimum is 0.5 seconds.

What size should an X ad image be?

For website card ads, images must be at least 800 px wide and 3 MB or less, in a 1.91:1 or 1:1 ratio.

What aspect ratio do X video ads use?

Video website cards support 16:9 and 1:1.

What is the file size limit for a promoted video on X?

Through the Ads API, promoted videos can be up to 10 minutes long and 500 MB, as MP4 or MOV.

What size is an X header or profile photo?

X lists those on its help centre, which could not be checked for this page. Rather than repeat numbers we could not confirm, we leave them out. The upload limit for any image is 5 MB.
